Katie Melone is a 10-time Emmy winner and two-time Emmy nominee for producing and directing work on HBO's "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel," hailed as "television's best sports journalism program" by The New York Times. Her newspaper reporting and writing has been recognized by Connecticut's Society of Professional Journalists and led to a change in state law to improve school bus safety.

Across her 20-plus-year career in journalism, she has led teams to create award-winning content, executing on big, ambitious ideas, and developed a reputation for meticulous research and reporting. She is committed to thorough sourcing and ethical and independent journalism.

Before receiving her MS in journalism at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, she worked on Capitol Hill — and decided she'd rather write and report on politicians than promote them. 

When she's not working, Katie enjoys playing tennis with other busy parents in her Brooklyn neighborhood and is hoping to set a record for the most ice cream cones eaten at her corner shop.
